Consultation about possible measures to protect the Canada's economic security interests

The Government of Canada announced the launch of public consultations on potential new measures to advance and defend Canada's economic security interests.

The consultations will be held over 45 days from August 9, 2024 to September 23, 2024, to help assess whether Canada has the best tools to promote economic prosperity and resilience.

Ottawa is seeking stakeholder views on potentially strengthening measures to advance Canada's economic security and supply chain resilience in the context of global economic and trade challenges, such as protectionist and non-market policies and practices by other countries and other forms of economic threats or coercion.
