ILWU Local 514 has issued a 72-hour strike notice to the BC Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA), effective 8 AM PDT on November 4, 2024.
If a strike occurs, it will impact all container terminals in British Columbia, including Prince Rupert ,Vanterm, Centerm, Deltaport, and Fraser Surrey.
Operations Update:
Container Yard/Depot Operations: Will continue as normal.
Drayage Operations: Expected to run normally until a strike is confirmed; adjustments will be made as necessary.
If a strike occurs, local drayage to/from Vancouver marine terminals may be reduced or suspended. However, operations at other marine terminals (CN & CPKC) are anticipated to proceed without disruption.
Cross-Border Services: Drayage to/from the Port of Seattle and Tacoma will continue without interruption.
Inland Drayage and Transload/Warehouse Operations: Both will remain operational as usual.
