Port of Montreal Strike Action and Impact on Intermodal Services.

As advised earlier today by the Port of Montreal, the Longshore Workers Union, representing the Dock Workers at the Port of Montreal (POM), has issued a 72-hour strike notice. The strike is set to begin on Sunday, October 27th at 00:01 and will last for 24 hours.

In light of this, please note the following service impacts:

  • Saturday, October 26th: CN will cancel intermodal train from Brampton to POM.

  • Sunday, October 27th: CN will cancel intermodal train from POM to all inland destinations.

Additionally, we are closely monitoring the gate capacity to ensure that customer-specific allocations align with the adjusted outbound train plan. Any changes to POM gate capacity will be communicated in advance to affected customers.
